Frequently asked questions
Twenty questions about the platform: what it runs, how people are verified and vote, where the data sits, and how an engagement starts.
What is Musahm?
A Saudi platform for running corporate meetings: general assemblies, board meetings and committee meetings. The invitation, agenda, attendance, voting, minutes and electronic signature all live in one place, and listed and closed companies have been holding their meetings on it since 2021.
Which kinds of meeting can be held on the platform?
Ordinary and extraordinary general assemblies, board meetings, and the meetings of the committees that report to the board. Each one gets the full cycle, from the invitation to the signed minutes.
Is the platform only for listed companies?
No. Listed and closed companies both use it, and what the platform asks for and reports on changes with the type of company.
How is a member or shareholder verified?
By a code sent to the mobile number registered in Absher under that person's national ID. Attendance and votes are therefore tied to the person, not to whoever holds the meeting link.
Which types of voting are supported?
Ordinary voting on each item, cumulative voting, and elective voting to choose members. Results are calculated and appear in the minutes against the item they belong to.
Can a meeting be held remotely?
Yes: online, in person, or both. The Zoom link is available sixty minutes before it starts, and attendance is recorded for each member in its own report.
How are the minutes produced and signed?
The minutes are generated from a template the company has approved, or written by hand, then signed electronically inside the platform — nothing is printed or emailed round for signature.
Does the platform support resolutions by circulation?
Yes. Resolutions are put to the members between meetings, and their approvals and signatures are recorded against them.
Can the outcome of a meeting be followed up?
Yes. Tasks and recommendations are recorded with an owner and a due date, and tracked to closure rather than left as a line in a document.
Where is company data stored?
Inside the Kingdom, on cloud infrastructure in a Saudi region.
What security controls are in place?
Data is encrypted, permissions follow the role, and every action is written to an audit trail. The platform is built to the Essential Cybersecurity Controls (ECC) issued by the National Cybersecurity Authority.
Does the platform use AI, and what happens to my data?
Some assistive features run on Google's Gemini models. The feature is off unless it is switched on, and it can be disabled per customer; when it is on, the text to be analysed is sent to that service to be processed.
Which languages does the platform work in?
Arabic and English, with the writing direction respected in the interface and in the documents it produces.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the size of the company, the number of meetings, and the modules you need. Ask for a demo and we will put a quote together.
What is the difference between Musahm GRC and Musahm Vault?
Musahm GRC runs meetings and governance: assemblies, boards, committees, minutes, resolutions and the shareholder register. Musahm Vault runs the company's documents: versions, approval routes, access permissions and secure sharing. They work together — meeting files and resolutions export from GRC into Vault, and one login opens both.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes, for iOS and Android: assemblies, board and committee meetings, voting, attendance reports, files, shares, and push notifications.
Does the platform support the Hijri calendar?
Yes. Meeting and minute dates are shown in Hijri alongside Gregorian.
Can the shareholder register and share transfers be managed?
Yes: the shareholder register, share ownership certificates, and transfers of ownership attested by the seller, the buyer and the chairman inside the platform. Our team loads the register in one go from an Excel file — at onboarding for a closed company, and before every assembly for a listed one.
What about policies and regulations?
A policy is drafted and reviewed through several steps up to the chief executive's approval, with every version kept. Ready-made policy packages are available to shorten the start.
Where are company documents kept after the meeting?
In the company's archive inside the platform, in folders, and they can be exported to Musahm Vault workspaces for retention and access control.
How do I reach technical support?
From inside the platform itself: a live chat with the Musahm team, with messages arriving as they are sent, so you do not leave what you are working on for an email or a phone call. It is open to every customer.
